- Manages and directs Distribution Center Staff. Responsible for Associate actions
- including training, coaching and recommendations for performance improvement.
- Assist in the development and reviews department position ESU criteria.
- Provides leadership, motivation and support to foster growth of staff, makes available
- resources for ongoing employee education.
- Demonstrates the values of team concept on a consistent basis.
- Recommends incentive programs.
- Plans and leads staff meetings and huddles.
- Quality/No Harm:
- Responsible for implementing, and maintaining inventory control processes, ensuring
- security and accountability of inventory, documenting transactions and supporting
- inventory systems to maximize turn ratios.
- Monitor “Standards of Performance” for all production areas and levels of competency.
- Supports Leadership in planning and directing Distribution Center Operational activities,
- including shipping, receiving, inventory control and distribution of materials.
- Manages materials in support of Disaster/Hurricane activities. Works closely with other
- staff members to ensure supplies and equipment are prepositioned or packaged in the
- event of need. Controls and maintains shelter supplies for the senior care facility. Delivers
- and aids in shelter setup when plans are activated.
- Understands and ensures compliance with Restricted Prescription Drug Distributor
- requirements as defined by the Florida Drug and Cosmetic Act, Chapter 499 and Florida
- statutes. Ensures associates are properly trained and comply with policy in identification,
- receiving, storage, issue, disposal, and documentation. Maintains documentation on all of
- medications and solutions as defined in the Florida Restricted Prescription Drug
- Distributor requirements.
- Ensures security as per department policy and procedure guidelines and AHCA and The
- Joint Commission regulations.
- Maintains a vehicle fleet for the Distribution Center and ensures proper vehicle operations
- and compliance with OSHA and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Ensures quality systems and regulatory compliance with OSHA, TJC, HIPAA, etc.
- Evaluated by inspections and outcomes.
- Understands and operates @Par, PeopleSoft, OptiFlex, and other Materials Management
- Information Systems. Actively participates and supports PeopleSoft, Optiflex, and
- essential IT operations and improvements, including downtime strategy, data entry, etc.
- Performs @Par system administrative functions to ensure proper controls and
- accountability of materials. Ensures utilization of @Par, Warehouse Management System,
- to control department records, receiving, picking, storage, delivery, and control of medical
- equipment or furniture. Conducts associate training and coordinates with IT on interface
- or systematic problems. Submits recommended software changes or modifications to
- management for review. Monitors all open issues to ensure correction or system updates.
- Packages, labels, and ships out any items to alternate locations.
- Ensures high level of accuracy in the Distribution Center ensuring all material is placed
- into proper location, material rotation is applied, correct quantities, and items are pulled to
- fill customer orders, quality assurance guidelines are followed, and area is maintained in
- clean and orderly fashion.
- Prepares and manages the scheduling and time-keeping system (KRONOS) for
- associates.
- Responsible for directing Materials activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory
- control, distribution, shredding, records management, and warehouse operations.
- Oversees the management and control of patient records. Ensures contracted activity
- complies with Health First Records Management Policy & Procedures to provide for
- retention and authorized file destruction.
- Works with approved vendors in the sale, donation, or recycling of Health First materials.
- Ensures items are properly documented.
- Provides for the collection of revenue dollars into Health First accounts.
- Process the receipt of supplies and equipment using Materials Management Information
- systems and standard operating procedures.
- Is responsible for participating and directly identifying Health First opportunities for “lean” supply chain continuum efficiencies and cost savings. Conducts associate training and
- coordinates with IT on interface or systematic problems.
- Recommends software changes or modifications for @Par and PeolpleSoft to
- management for review.
- Monitors all open issues to ensure correction or system updates.
- Examines productivity and takes action to maximize operational output, ensures that key
- performance indicators are achieved, and monitors metrics to achieve established goals.
- Educates and trains staff regarding proper supply chain management processes and use
- of materials management information systems (MMIS).
- Ensures distribution of medical supplies and equipment to supported customer areas are
- delivered in a timely manner.
- Support objectives and strategies for Distribution Center operations in support of HRMC,
- PBH, CCH and Viera Hospital and Health First Health System objectives.
- Ensures maintenance of a professional work environment for staff and customers.
- Provides professional expertise and quality advice specific to Supply Chain Support.
- Performs other functions as needed to maintain and improve operation and customer
- service
- Associates degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Business or a related field
- preferred OR 3 years’ experience in materials management/warehousing/distribution
- environment preferred.
- Healthcare supply experience strongly desired.
- Clinical background or experience in Contracting and Supply Chain Administration
- preferred.
- High degree of math aptitude and communication skills (reading, writing, speaking.)
- Comprehend basic oral and written daily work assignments.
- Ability to read and communicate fluently in English.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of supply shipping, inventory management,
- warehouse storage, distribution, and rules regulations and related safety requirements.
- Must be computer literate, be familiar with computer components and how they interact as
- a system.
- Must have demonstrated initiative in seeking knowledge, courses, or training for
- professional growth.
- Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP or equal) by the American Hospital
- Association (AHA) preferred.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Considerable stooping, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling heavy weights, awkward and
- bulky boxes, crates, using carts, pallet jacks and other box lifting
- mechanisms/conveyances.
- Must be able to endure frequent lifting/ pulling of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Operation of various types of manual equipment used in the transportation of materials.
- Safe operation of a 26ft straight truck.
- Must be willing to accept close supervision; work quietly and efficiently, and freely; accept
- constructive feedback concerning job performance without resentment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal, and written.
- Must be able to respond quickly to customer concerns regarding availability/status of
- supply orders.
- Must be able to handle constant interruptions.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
- Ability to adapt to fast paced integrated systems environment.
