In this role, you will be responsible for architecting firmware and supporting software applications for our actuator, power systems, microturbine, and turbogenerator products. You will be working with a small, fast passed team responsible for products from concept through production and support. Our ideal candidate will have at least eight years of relevant experience.Embedded Software Engineer IIIYour Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Architect firmware for embedded systems in C on TI C2000 and Atmel AVR microcontroller targets and supporting software applications for testing firmware and hardware
  • Develop software development plans and estimate time and costs for software development projects
  • Develop derived requirements for software from customer specifications
  • Review electrical design in support of software development and implementation
  • Develop and implement control models for BLDC motors and turbine engine control
  • Perform static and dynamic analysis of code base
  • Work with cross-functional team to debug and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation for design and implementation
Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:
  • Master of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum of eight years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in C programming language and standard tools such as IDEs, Git version control, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Experience implementing PID type control loops for various systems such as motor control, fluid system control, etc.
  • Working experience developing low level drivers for communication protocols such as UART, CAN, SPI, I2C
  • Working experience using real-time operating systems (e.g. FreeRTOS)
  • Understanding of low-level hardware interactions, memory management, and peripheral configurations
