- Architect firmware for embedded systems in C on TI C2000 and Atmel AVR microcontroller targets and supporting software applications for testing firmware and hardware
- Develop software development plans and estimate time and costs for software development projects
- Develop derived requirements for software from customer specifications
- Review electrical design in support of software development and implementation
- Develop and implement control models for BLDC motors and turbine engine control
- Perform static and dynamic analysis of code base
- Work with cross-functional team to debug and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for design and implementation
- Master of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Minimum of eight years of experience
- Strong proficiency in C programming language and standard tools such as IDEs, Git version control, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
- Experience implementing PID type control loops for various systems such as motor control, fluid system control, etc.
- Working experience developing low level drivers for communication protocols such as UART, CAN, SPI, I2C
- Working experience using real-time operating systems (e.g. FreeRTOS)
- Understanding of low-level hardware interactions, memory management, and peripheral configurations
