Urgently seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager with a Waste Management backgroundrelocation possible for the right candidate to CaliforniaThe Fleet Maintenance Manager in Waste Managment will oversee and ensure all maintenance programs are executed in an efficient, safe, and economical manner by providing leadership and guidance to Operations Management, by planning and developing procedures to improve the quality and efficiency to optimally utilize resources while minimizing costs. Responsible for the overall productivity, safety of all maintenance personnel and the lawful operating condition of company vehicles. Position will also include oversight and adherence of the Maintenance SOP.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Effective support management of all fleet and maintenance activities, including cost control, management development and safety standards.Fosters collaboration between and among division personnel.Supports Division Management to ensure performance and cost management throughout the company.Manage scheduled preventive maintenance requirements for all equipmentSupport two satellite sites with all maintenance requirementsKnowledge of Yellow Iron equipment maintenance and repairsLeverages purchasing volume and researches and negotiates best prices on parts or repairs from Vendors.Supervisory responsibilities for maintenance personnel including supervisor, night lead and parts clerk.Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met and are in compliance with all regulatory agencies including DOT, OSHA, COUNTY ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH, C.A.R.B., SWPPP and CUPA.Supports Division Management to ensure any issues with maintenance, contracts and warranty work with vendors is addressed and resolved.Assists in the development and leadership of short-and-long-range planning activities covering all aspects of fleet maintenance operations.Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.Ensures the cleanliness, maintenance and organization of the maintenance shop through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.Supports management in the personnel needs of the maintenance department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into hiring, termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.Manage employee schedules based on business needs including PTOOther duties as assigned or needed.KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Supervisory skills to include the ability to coach, train and motivate subordinates to reach established goalsEffective written and communication skillsHave proven ability to run and evaluate reports.Be able to objectively assess performance and listen carefully to all team membersManagement skills to include strategic plan development, decision making abilities and program implementationAbility to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneouslyHave excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.Be able to learn and have excellent working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, HAZMAT, C.A.R.B., SWPPP and CUPA compliance requirements.Ability to foster a work environment based on teamwork and open communication.Ability to work well under pressure while assisting a wide variety of customers (both internal and external) while fostering relationships with key vendor contactsAdminister progressive discipline
