Production Manager – Manufacturing Roanoke, VA (on-site) $80,000–$90,000 base Lingo Staffing is partnering with a growing manufacturing client in Roanoke, VA to hire an experienced Production Manager. This role is perfect for a leader with an engineering mindset who thrives where systems thinking, process innovation, and people development meet—bridging traditional craftsmanship with scalable automation.
What You’ll Own
  • Lead daily production across lab/manufacturing operations to hit quality, safety, and delivery targets (including 48-hour delivery guarantees).
  • Apply engineering rigor to solve problems, optimize workflows, and drive data-driven improvements.
  • Coach, mentor, and grow a diverse team—building skills, confidence, and accountability.
  • Bridge craftspeople and automation: champion human-centric automation from concept through implementation.
  • Convert technical systems into clear, adoptable processes across the floor.
  • Uphold quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and lean principles (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction).
  • Own throughput, on-time delivery, and rework/waste reduction against key KPIs.
  • Champion safety culture (OSHA-aligned), engagement, and ownership at every level.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Leadership to align production with business goals.
What You Bring
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related) OR equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • 5+ years in production/operations management within manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with process optimization, quality systems, lean/CI (Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
  • Strong communicator who explains complex ideas simply and collaborates well with non-technical teams.
  • Track record of mentoring teams through growth and change.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, AutoCAD, and modern production tools.
  • Bias toward action, high ownership, and respect for legacy craftsmanship.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety program management.
