- Coordinate and prioritize work requests with Assistant Facilities Manager, Facilities Manager and Director of Facilities.
- Ability to use basic troubleshooting skills to diagnose plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and appliance related problems.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, and practices associated with building and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
- Performs carpentry work from plans, oral instructions, sketches, and blueprints.
- Experience with maintaining pools and spas preferred.
- Ability to become a Certified Pool Operator within one year of hire; paid for by the company.
- Familiar with computers and computer related software.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with co-workers, management, owners, and guests.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, with clean record, preferred.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance duties for all One Steamboat Place units including:
- Plumbing: unclog sinks, toilets, showers, and tubs; repair/replace toilets, faucets
- Electrical: repair/replace broken switches, plugs, fuses; replace smoke detectors and batteries
- Carpentry: repair/replace damaged wood trim, make doors and windows operable, including sash cords; repair/replace door and window hardware
- Glazing: replace broken door/window glass
- Painting: exterior and interior
- Drywall repair
- Appliances: basic troubleshooting and repair
- Mechanical: basic troubleshooting and repair
- Landscaping: use common landscaping tools/equipment to maintain outside appearance of building
- High School Diploma or GED OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least one year of maintenance experience.
- Prior hospitality, resort, hotel facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Using a variety of tools, materials, and practices associated with building and grounds maintenance such as: hand tools, drills, chop saws, levels, weed eaters, lawn mowers, scissor lifts, electrical meters, wrenches, bearing pullers, and hammers.
- Have previous customer service experience.
- Fire panels, fire and life safety devices, fire pumps, and jockey pumps.
- Maintenance on pumps including grease bearings, strainer baskets, and suction diffusers.
- Building-automation computer systems such as Johnson Controls CPU, Transcendent, and others.
- Basic repairs related to actuators, diffusers, balancing valves, FCU motors and exhaust fans.
- Hydronic, snowmelt, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting skills to diagnose plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and appliance related problems.
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with computers and computer related programs such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, iPad, iMacs, iPhones, and Android apps.

- Ability to learn and understand a variety of information pertaining to the resort and the area we serve.
- Planning and prioritization of tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintaining high levels of productivity without direct supervision.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- If not already certified, while employed, obtain the Certified Pool Operator Certification (CPO) within one year of employment, paid for by One Steamboat Place.
- Work independently or in a team environment and take direction.
- Work until all daily duties are complete, even if this means working more than 8 hours in one shift.
- Learn about the different categories of ownership and membership within One Steamboat Place.
- Learn about all other Timbers Properties, the Reciprocity Program, and the Timbers Collection.
- Must be able to continually lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl to fulfill cleaning and repair/maintenance tasks for up to 4 hours in length.
- Able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility throughout resort for entire 8-hour shift.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Must be able to grasp, write, use repetitive motion, listen, and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision.
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must be able to use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- May be subject to atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin, including fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally works in high, precarious places (ladders).
- Occasionally works in proximity to electrical current, high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
