
Business Analyst I

- Serve as functional subject matter expert on student affairs systems, including but not limited to Salesforce, and Registrar Salesforce applications.
- Identify, gather, and document business requirements from users and stakeholders.
- Serve as a backup for the other Registrar business analysts who support multiple applications, including Banner.
- Perform configuration tasks to satisfy requests from end users for enhancements and fixes.
- Work with IT/EAS to coordinate design, testing, and deployment of system enhancements.
- Develop test use cases and perform user acceptance testing for upgrades and enhancements.
- Track and document changes in functional requirements and write detailed procedures that can be easily understood by users.
- Oversee user and license management, including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, and permissions.
- Perform frequent data quality checks to ensure system data is accurate.
- Provide enterprise-wide application support. Develop recommendations and coordinate issue resolution with IT/EAS and software vendors. Troubleshoot, identify and track software issues to ensure resolution. Document and communicate problem resolutions.
- Analyze and evaluate current business processes, workflows, reports, and tools. Make recommendations for development, improvement, or simplification.
- In partnership with Registrar staff, develop appropriate training materials to support end-user training.
- Communicate and market solutions to campus users.
- Research, configure, and schedule standardized reports within the applications.
- Create ad-hoc reports, data queries, standard reports, and dashboards to support business needs.
- Responsible for multiple projects or large complex projects with cross-functional teams.
- Technology liaison between Registrar and IT/EAS.
- Partner with IT/EAS development team to prioritize projects using the IT prioritization rubric.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a business analyst position
- Entry level to 2 years of experience or coursework specific to business analysis
- Degree in business administration, computer information systems, management information systems, or other related field
- Experience with student information systems and student data concepts
- Experience with SQL and reporting software (Cognos, Tableau, etc.)
- Experience managing student-centered applications
- Experience in a higher education working environment
