Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-PacedAs an NDT/NDE Technician assigned to our project in Bay Minette, Alabama, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and safety of various metal structures throughout this specific project. Based in our Huntsville, Alabama office, you will work closely with experienced staff to perform routine metal materials testing services, gaining proficiency in the operation and calibration of test equipment and adhering to reporting requirements. This role involves fieldwork, which may include safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks to heights exceeding 200 feet, using fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.Please note that this is a project-specific position that will conclude upon the completion of the project. While the exact completion date is currently unknown, candidates should be prepared for a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The role requires flexibility, including 50+ hour work weeks during peak periods, as well as off-shift and weekend work as needed. Experience in Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training, including the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems, is a plus.What You'll Do:
  • Field Expeditions: Perform visual inspections of structural steel, including bolted and welded connections.
  • Testing Gear Maintenance: Maintain testing equipment in good working order and in calibration.
  • Training: Receive training in new technical skills, safety protocols, and other programs.
What We're Looking For:
  • A High School Diploma/GED
  • NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an Associate's degree
  • Vocational training in non-destructive metals testing services, a plus
  • Industry certifications, a plus:
  • ICC certification in Building Inspections and/or Structural Steel Inspection
  • Level II for UT certification
  • Level II for PT, MT certifications
What to Expect:With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
  • Climbing heights over 200ft
  • Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
  • Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
