Conducts intake/assessment and service plans with families. Teaches and provides information on a wide variety of topics, including child development, stress management, parenting, nurturing and family life as indicated by participant needs. Adheres to Intensive Home-Based Services model. Provides linkage to community resources. Available after hours and weekend as needed.EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field from a recognized accrediting agency with one year of experience preferred.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field from a recognized accrediting agency with 2 years of experience in Intensive Home-Based Services.
EXPERIENCE
  • Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, professional accounting, finance, business administration, and marketing.
  • Preferred experience in working with children and families including parents / caregivers who have harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and who experienced trauma and loss.
  • Experience in working with domestic violence, substance abuse, and permanency issues.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDKnowledge of child growth, development, and behavior.Knowledge of positive parenting practices.Knowledge of case management and advocacy practices and techniques.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work with families of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend as required.OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of First Aid classes.
Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification as may be contract-mandated.Continued employment in this position is contingent on successful completion of CPR, CPI and/or van driving training as such training is necessary to ensure ability/continued ability to perform essential functions of this job.This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of personal vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract and continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.At Child & Family Service, we value and celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
