This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: meaningful collaboration in our Carlsbad office and the flexibility of remote work.As a Sr. Director, People Strategy Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor, integrator, and internal consultant to senior business and functional leaders. You will translate organizational goals into actionable people strategies that drive performance, growth, and transformation across our Government Business Unit.What you will do:

  • Partner with leaders to drive organizational design, change leadership, and workforce capability
  • Use analytics and insights to inform decisions and measure impact

  • Partner with business leaders to understand organizational objectives and challenges and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, aligning P&C strategies with business objectives to drive organizational performance and growth.
  • Act as a change agent, proactively identifying opportunities for organizational improvement and leading initiatives that support transformation.
  • Lead and contribute to business conversations, providing insights and recommendations that influence business outcomes.
Proactive Internal Consulting & Influencing
  • Anticipate business needs and proactively develop people solutions that address current and future challenges.
  • Act as an internal consultant, advising leaders on complex people issues, organizational design, talent management, and workforce planning.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to influence and drive the adoption of people initiatives.
  • Challenge the status quo and provide constructive feedback to leaders, ensuring people practices are innovative and align with best practices.
Collaboration with COEs and Stakeholders
  • Work closely with COEs to design and implement P&C programs that address business needs.
  • Facilitate the integration of COE expertise into business specific solutions.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between business units and P&C functional experts.
Talent Management and Organizational Development
  • Identify skill gaps and partner with L&D to develop upskilling and reskilling programs.
  • Facilitate performance management processes, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Champion initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent aligned with business needs.
Change Management and Culture
  • Lead and support change management initiatives to ensure smooth implementation of business and P&C strategies.
  • Promote and sustain a positive organizational culture and employee experience.
  • Advise on and implement inclusive initiatives.
Data Driven Decision Making
  • Use people analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform, influence business decisions and measure the impact of P&C initiatives.
  • Leverage data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend evidence-based solutions to business leaders.
  • Prepare and present actionable insights to support strategic decision making.
Continuous Learning and External Benchmarking
  • Stay current with P&C trends, best practices, and external benchmarks, bringing innovative ideas into the organization.
What you'll need
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience as a P&C Business Partner or similar HR role in a business-driven environment.
  • Experience working with COEs and cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of employment law, P&C/HR best practices, and HR technology.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy into people priorities and strategy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data for decision making
  • Strong communication, coaching, and consulting skills.

Salary range$189,500.00 - $299,500.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $235,500.00- $353,500.00/ annuallyAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
