Our multidisciplinary team delivers high-quality, forward-thinking solutions across sectors including construction, aviation, government, and multi-family housing.Position SummaryEDT is seeking an experienced and licensed Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our corporate office in Marietta, GA. With over 32 years of trusted industry experience, EDT continues to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for complex projects in the industrial, federal, and municipal sectors.This role requires a motivated engineer with a strong background in electrical system design, high-voltage substation projects, and power distribution infrastructure. You’ll work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, leading design efforts from concept through construction and ensuring all technical standards, schedules, and client expectations are met with precision and excellence.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and management of high-voltage substation and power distribution projects in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Oversee all phases of project development, including conceptual design, planning, technical execution, and construction support.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical engineering issues with innovative, cost-effective, and code-compliant solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation that align with client specifications and internal standards, including Sargent & Lundy (S&L) formats.
  • Coordinate with architects, civil/structural engineers, and designers to ensure cohesive project integration.
  • Produce, review, and quality-check electrical design drawings, schematics, and specifications using industry-standard software.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff, promoting best practices and professional development.
  • Participate in internal reviews, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Education & Licensure
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Related Field
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Georgia is required; licensure in Alabama is a plus.
Experience
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in building and infrastructure projects.
  • Prior experience with industrial, government, aviation, or healthcare projects.
  • Familiarity with Veterans Affairs (V.A.) design guidelines is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required; MicroStation is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of power systems, construction detailing, and coordination across MEP disciplines.
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes, NFPA standards, permitting processes, and electrical engineering best practices.
Project Management & Communication
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, external consultants, and client communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical presentations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel for site visits across Georgia (local/regional travel).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
