
Armed Security Supervisor

- Perform all duties as specified in accordance with the contract and Post Orders for the security posts assigned at DOT HQ and Federal Buildings.
- Ensure Armed Guards are properly uniformed and present a neat and professional appearance, as referenced in the Security Manual and Resource Tool (SMART BOOK).
- Ensure personnel are thoroughly knowledgeable about their duties and demonstrate the ability to act effectively during emergencies or other unusual situations.
- Ensure Armed Guards are properly trained.
- Possess all necessary permits, CPR and first aid certifications, credentials, etc., as required by the contract or by local or state law.
- Oversee access control, visitor processing, screening, patrols, and emergency responses, maintaining a secure environment for employees and visitors.
- Conduct post inspections, monitor guards' performance, address immediate issues, and report information to the Facility Commander or Project Manager/Deputy Project Manager.
- Support quality control inspections and contract compliance and coordinate with the Facility Commander to ensure operational readiness.
- Responsible for armed security weapons procedures and storage requirements on federal property.
- Ensure responsive customer-focused services through direct communication, both internally and externally.
- U.S. Citizen.
- Must have and maintain an active Public Trust Tier 2 Security Clearance.
- Must be certified as an FPS A-9 Armed Contract Security Officer (ACSO) and attend supervisory training.
- Must successfully complete medical exams, physical abilities tests, and drug screenings when required.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in law enforcement; or 5 years' experience in a security-related field; or a combination of the two. 3 years of exceptional service or experience must have been in a supervisory position.
- Must possess 2 years of college in any field of study, or have substantial and credible law enforcement, military, or business management experience (must be outlined within resume).
- Demonstrated ability to supervise over 15 Armed Guards in a structured work environment.
- Must fluently speak, read, and comprehend English.
- Must possess good communications skills with ability to clearly articulate complex concepts.
- Required to provide 3 professional references showcasing experience managing 15 or more Armed Guards.
