Overview:Department: Guest ServicesStatus: ExemptSchedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, 40 hours per weekBenefits: Paid holidays, vacation, sick, personal time, medical/dental/vision/hearing, life insurance, pension/403(b), STD/LTD, and othersJob Function: Manage the day-to-day operations and overall administration of the Hanger Emergency Lodge and Way House, including all related program areas such as the UK Salvation Army Clinic, resident case management, and food service delivery. Design and execute programs that support residents in achieving self-sufficiency and securing long-term housing. All services and programs must align with The Salvation Army’s policies, procedures, and guiding philosophy. Due to the 24/7 nature of the facility, this position requires ongoing on-call availability.Responsibilities:1Enforce rules, regulations, and policies as outlined in the Hanger Lodge Handbook.2Responsible for the scheduling and supervision of Hanger Lodge staff. Monitor time sheets. Conduct regular staff and resident meetings.3Maintain daily service statistics.4Oversee volunteers and community service workers5Properly maintain the cleanliness of the building, monitor chore assignments for all residents. Submit work orders when necessary for additional supplies and repairs.6Provide timely input to Lead Case Worker about activities and or concerns related to residents.7Attend community and coordinating agency meetings8Participate in community activities to promote shelter programs9Provide activities for residents such as birthday parties, movie nights, etc.10Oversee menus for resident meals and special events. Purchase/order food supplies when needed.11Work with case workers to obtain needed items for residents and distribute supplies to them.12Give tours to clients, donors, and vendors as needed.13Provide workshops and information sessions for residents14Provide other services as required for the efficient functioning of the Salvation Army15Attend training sessions as required
Qualifications:1Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent required2Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supervising and working in a shelter environment3Certified in first aid and CPR4Excellent written and oral communication skills5Experience with Microsoft office applications6Must be sensitive to topics surrounding families, children, cultural diversity, and homelessness.
