- Foster a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where all children feel supported and cared for.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks from an approved, parent-provided menu, ensuring that each child's dietary needs are met.
- Utilize the Procare app to share a photo of each child daily to keep parents informed.
- Provide comfort and guidance to children during moments of emotional distress, helping them develop self-regulation skills when experiencing emotions such as sadness, anger, or frustration.
- Immediately report any injuries or accidents to the Program Director and administer appropriate care as needed.
- Assist with pickup from schools, ensuring a safe and smooth transition to the program.
- Implement lesson plans provided by Growth Leaders, engaging children in age-appropriate activities across art, science, math, and literacy.
- Provide homework assistance, supporting children in completing assignments and reinforcing their learning.
- Use positive, developmentally appropriate behavior management techniques to guide and support children.
- Work collaboratively with program staff to maintain a consistent and supportive approach to discipline and learning.
- Adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for negative discipline, including yelling or any form of corporal punishment.
- Assist with program organization and decoration to reflect current themes and activities, creating an inviting and engaging space for learning.
- Work closely with Growth Leaders, and other program staff to maintain continuity and a collaborative environment.
- Communicate professionally with parents during drop-off, pick-up, or through the Procare app.
- Share any concerns about children’s well-being, development, or behavior with the Program Director.
- Follow all procedures for regulated activities, such as safety protocols.
- Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations and center policies.
- Complete required training hours and seek additional opportunities for professional growth.
- Ensure proper teacher-to-child ratios at all times, never leaving the program unattended.
- Refrain from using personal devices while in the program.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children 5-12 years of age in an educational or childcare setting.
- Must pass required background checks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different program environments and teaching styles.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude in adapting to changing needs.
