- Participate in daily Moves, Adds & Changes (MAC) ticket planning and executing including but not limited to:
- Any aspect of network cabling
- Rack n stack Cisco gear or Vertiv UPS
- Troubleshoot or swap out AP or IP cams
- Cable or troubleshoot a TV connection
- Assess cabling needs for any furniture reconfig. or remodel
- Be familiar with local conduit requirements and electrical code
- Work with our data center contingent workers on various tasks
- Get Vertiv UPS Certification for installation and support
- Hands on support in CHI for Vertiv UPS issues
- LAN Room E-waste liaison and General cleanliness
- Install small low voltage technical projects as assigned by the customer
- Responsible for all project related asset management and asset tracking
- Troubleshoot and resolve an end-user port issue. You will determine if the connectivity, the network port or the device that is not working properly.
- Put together jack maps for 8 floors and provide weekly updates on progress.
- Utilize computer skills to prepare required reports and communications and complete daily paperwork for MAC tickets.
- Perform work within time parameters and ensure compliance with all HR, Safety, and company policies and procedures
- Ensure that all technical, quality and profitability objectives are met while maintaining top level customer satisfaction and exceeding customer expectations
- Responsible for account coordination including customer interaction
- Create & coordinate status reports and actively communicate with customer and Project Managers
- General knowledge of computers, user is expected to use apps such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word plus conferencing apps such as Teams and Zoom.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, especially electrical and low voltage symbols.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of project planning, cabling standards and project leadership
- Self-motivation & self-initiation to complete work as assigned
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong communication skills (written & oral); time sheet efficiency & accuracy
- Able to work on ladders and use power tools; be able to use power actuated Hilti Gun, hammer drill, band saw, drills, etc.
- Ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder.
- Must own low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Should be able terminate jacks, dress and terminate patch panels, 66 & 110 blocks, know the 568a and 568B color codes, be able to use and test Fluke testers, install switches, routers, modems, wireless access points, trouble shoot voice and data issues, work with COAX, RG6, RG11, RG59 and Category cables, build out closets, be able to use power actuated Hilti Gun, hammer drill, band saw, drills
- Must pass 7-year criminal background check and must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or technical degree a plus.
- BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification
- OSHA 10
- Powder Actuated tools Certification
- Confined Space Certification
- CPR and First aid certified
- Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
- Lift certified
