Veterinary AssistantAdams County Animal HospitalJob DescriptionJob descriptionWe are seeking a motivated and caring Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal health and welfare, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. You will support our veterinarians and technicians in daily clinical operations, patient care, and client services.Key Responsibilities:Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical proceduresSafely restrain animals for exams and proceduresPrepare and maintain exam rooms and surgical areasAdminister medications and treatments as directedMonitor and report changes in animal behavior or conditionClean and sterilize instruments, kennels, and equipmentFeed, bathe, and exercise animals as neededEducate pet owners on general animal care and post-treatment instructionsMaintain accurate medical records and documentationPerform administrative tasks such as scheduling, invoicing, and answering phonesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in a veterinary setting preferredAbility to handle animals of all sizes and temperamentsComfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsBasic computer proficiency (experience with veterinary software a plus)Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periodsWork Schedule:Full-time, 35-40 hours per weekIncludes evenings and SaturdaysBenefits:Competitive hourly wage (commensurate with experience)Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysEmployee discounts on veterinary servicesOpportunities for continuing education and professional developmentCompensation for this position is hourly $18.00-$22.00 depending on experience.
