Individual compensation is based on various factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.Primary Responsibilities include:
- Review shop work order for hours budgeted approved materials and schedule.
- Understand how the project will phase through the different production departments, Mill equipment and the expectations of the deliverables.
- Understand the milestones established for the project.
- Review the machining SK drawings and/or models for materials and tooling to be used and compare geometry to the finished parts.
- Experience with Moulder Setup and change overs.
- Experience in ripping, moulding, sanding, and shaping in Custom Millwork/Manufacturing
- Inspect parts for quality and finish.
- Understand proper tooling set up, measuring, and calibration.
- Understand what tooling is available and notify Mill Manager if tooling breaks, needs sharpening, or needs to be ordered.
- Use calipers, depth gauges, tape measures, etc. to verify raw materials as well as finish parts for dimensional accuracy.
- Follow machine established guidelines to insert and safely secure tooling.
- Check tool holders, collets, and collet nuts for wear or damage.
- Keep tool holders and related parts clean and free from resin build up.
- Learn to manually run tool measuring programs to verify tool length and diameter.
- Understand how to run the routine to automatically measure tool length and diameter.
- Woodworking Techniques
- Understand operational order of milling (crosscut before ripping, etc.)
- Develop an understanding as to how different materials machine. (I.E. Solid surface, hardwoods, softwoods, composite materials) Mill Captain will provide guidance.
- Understand the equipment’s capabilities and how to efficiently produce product.
- 3 - 5 years experience as a Moulder, with Machine setup
- Proficiency in woodworking techniques, machinery, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Knowledge of wood types, finishes, and joinery methods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Safety-conscious mindset.
- The ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently and repeatedly.
- The ability to stand continuously for up to 2 hours at a time.
