  • Assists in preparation of meals in accordance with USAFA menu guidelines.
  • Serves food family style.
  • Sets up classroom food carts for meal and snack service
  • delivers food to classrooms in appropriate timeframes.
  • Sets up and operates dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning.
  • Scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs bowls, pots and pans.
  • Performs heavy duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washes floors and walls, refrigerators and freezers, and sanitizes garbage cans.
  • May unload food from delivery trucks.
  • Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area.
  • Assembles meal items in quantity
  • Portions food to each room based on number of children in attendance and required portion sizes.
  • Distributes food substitutions to classrooms as needed for children with food allergies.
  • Works cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and appropriate meal services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
