Position DescriptionJob Title: Cafeteria MonitorFLSA: Non-ExemptJob Status: Part Time; school year onlyReporting Functions: Reports to PrincipalJob Function: Monitors students within the cafeteria setting during scheduled lunch periods within the school day. Positively engages and assists students as needed, provides direction to promote lunchroom transitions, and communicates with principal/classroom teachers as needed.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitors students inside the cafeteria.
  • Knowledge of emergency evacuation routes, school procedures, and regulation for the cafeteria.
  • Assist with cleanup of cafeteria tables and seating in between lunch periods.
  • Guide students in teaching them personal responsibility and cleanliness of the school cafeteria.
  • Follow all policies set forth by the Diocese of Allentown and St. John Vianney Regional School.
  • Report any behaviors or concerns to the teacher of the grade level and/or principal.
  • Actively establishes and maintains appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe, orderly, effective, and productive environment.
  • Upholds St. John Vianney Regional School's discipline procedures.
  • Any other duties assigned by the principal

  • High School Diploma
Other Requirements:
  • Attendance at the online Protecting God's Children class and Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Previous experience working with children; an understanding of child development and the skills necessary to relate to the students preferable.
  • Initiative and the willingness to follow the principal's direction.
** Must have clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, DHS Fingerprint Check, and NSOR as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014 (No less than 1 year old).The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
