- Work on diverse projects from office buildings to manufacturing facilities
- Collaborate with skilled tradespeople, architects, and construction teams
- Perform load calculations using Trane Trace 700 software
- Select equipment that meets project specifications and budget requirements
- Conduct energy efficiency analyses to optimize system performance
- Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Develop comprehensive HVAC systems including ductwork, air distribution, and controls
- Design complete plumbing systems from sanitary/vent to domestic water distribution
- Create detailed technical drawings using Revit 2018 or higher
- Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, electrical, structural, and civil teams
- Partner with Senior Engineers and Project Managers on project scope development
- Provide technical guidance to CAD designers and drafters
- Conduct job site inspections and prepare detailed field reports
- Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders and field personnel
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification required
- Professional Engineer license OR commitment to obtain PE license within 2 years of hire
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical and plumbing system design experience
- Demonstrated experience with load calculations and equipment selection
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Revit 2018 or higher
- Windows operating environment
- Understanding of mechanical system costs and installation methods (preferred)
- Professional office setting with modern engineering tools and equipment
- Regular construction site visits throughout Georgia for inspections and coordination
- Collaborative work environment with architects, engineers, and construction professionals
- Ability to safely navigate active construction sites including stairs and ladders
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds
- Use of construction personnel hoists when required
- Local travel to job sites throughout Georgia region
