Our Haverhill campus offers all private rooms, and our Methuen campus offers a new state-of-the-art catheterization suite and Joint Center of Excellence, named as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction+ Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.Position Summary: Birthing Unit Surgical Tech PT 24 hours 7a-730p**SIGN ON BONUS $4,500**Assists in peri operative nursing care and other related duties, primarily as a scrub person, but may be assigned to assist the Registered Nurse in the Circulating Nurse role. Perform functions of the Surgical Technician in caring for assigned obstetrical patients. Is responsible for compliance with all standards, policies, and procedures related to the scope of the Surgical Technician practice in the delivery of patient care. Promotes teamwork among co-workers, physicians, and healthcare team members.Qualifications:The Surg Tech will have an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.Surgical technologists are required to complete an accredited educational program for surgical technologists and hold and maintain a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical TechnologistsEducation: Graduate of accredited educational program for surgical technologists. Or an individual was employed as a "surgical technologist" in a surgical facility on July 1, 2013 (validated documentation required).Experience: One year of experience preferred.Licensure/Certification:
  • A Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Or a graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology but has not, as of the date of hire, obtained the certification required must obtain the required certification within 12 months of graduation date.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
