Job Title: Medical AssistantJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in an office setting, primarily focused on telephonic and in-basket messaging. The role involves taking patient calls and coordinating with the RN staff to determine the appropriate direction for patient needs. A significant part of the role, approximately 75%, involves taking provider orders for Durable Medical Equipment requests, particularly for sleep disorders where patients are issued CPAP Machines for Sleep Apnea Therapy.Responsibilities
Handle patient calls and relay details to RN staff.
Focus on taking provider orders for Durable Medical Equipment requests.
Manage requests primarily related to sleep disorders and CPAP Machines for Sleep Apnea Therapy.
Ensure detailed and accurate communication with healthcare providers.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Epic software.
Experience in case management.
Knowledge of prior authorization processes.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with current BLS certification.
At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Neurology experience is not required but can be beneficial.
Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts either from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
