Overview:The QC Supervisor is responsible for organizing daily activities. Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of lab instruments. Responsible for communicating and representing day-to-day QC affairs between departments. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for guiding day-to-day QC activities.
  • Responsible for raw material and finished goods release, as authorized, as applicable.
  • Coach/train team.
  • Report any major batch records variances, as applicable.
  • Must follow, create procedures and SOPs/forms.
  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.
  • Generate and review Certificates of Analysis.
  • Support Change Management functions.
  • Ensuring good lab procedures and safety protocols are followed, apply 5S+1.
  • Participate in internal audits, as applicable.
  • Provide support with external audits, as applicable.
  • May collect samples, prepare shipments and inspect raw materials and finished goods.
  • Interpret data.
  • Perform various types of raw material testing.
  • Daily data entry and run reports in ERP systems, as defined and as applicable.
  • Perform lot tracing as applicable.
  • Report any nonconformities by following applicable SOPs.
  • Generate nonconformities report and communicate to stakeholders, as applicable.
  • Coordinate with QA to determine a rework plan.
  • Review supplier qualification tests, as applicable.
  • Investigate Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) as assigned.
  • Write and approve method validation protocols.
  • Contribute to reports and deliver internal presentations.
  • Lead QC projects and participate in PIP meetings and inform management of updates.
  • Participate and or lead in product scale-up activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process innovation.
  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D,quality groups.) and other
  • May provide input to budget, as applicable.
  • Follows and maintains an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.
Qualifications:Education level.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4-year degree) in a related degree with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Master’s Degree with 2+ years of related experience.
  • Previous Management experience preferred.
Essential skills and experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge on all lab instruments, as applicable.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to use computer systems, including MS Office, M3 and LIMs, etc.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must have project management skills.
  • Familiarity with SPC principles and practices.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct and perform method validation on lab equipment.
  • Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.
