- ServiceNow Leadership: As ServiceNow is the core operational platform for DTS and the Utah Citizen Portal, the IT Director will be expected to have a strong understanding of its capabilities. This position will lead efforts to expand and mature ServiceNow's use statewide, helping agencies streamline services and improve citizen engagement.
- Business Intelligence Strategy: This position will also be responsible for consolidating and maturing the State's BI strategy, with Microsoft Power BI as the primary standard, helping agencies make better, data-driven decisions and fostering secure, scalable interagency data sharing.
- Platform Innovation and Growth: The IT Director II will be tasked with thinking beyond the status quo, identifying opportunities to expand platform use cases, integrate emerging technologies, and solve complex statewide challenges through automation, self-service, and improved user experiences.
- Organizational Change Leadership: Success in this role will require guiding agencies through organizational change, addressing misconceptions around security, data sharing, and platform capabilities, and building trust to encourage adoption of enterprise tools and shared solutions.

- Provide strategic direction for ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Power BI, and Salesforce, ensuring platforms are optimized for statewide needs.
- Drive platform governance, standards, and lifecycle management to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability.
- Partner with agency leaders and DTS executives to align platform capabilities with business priorities and citizen service improvements.
- Champion innovation, exploring new capabilities, integrations, and automation opportunities to modernize state IT services.
- Lead efforts to expand and enhance ServiceNow as the core of DTS operations and the Utah Citizen Portal experience.
- Develop and execute a statewide BI strategy centered on Power BI, enabling secure, efficient, and collaborative data sharing across agencies.
- Guide agencies through organizational and cultural change, overcoming security misconceptions and driving platform adoption.
- Manage a team of highly skilled platform managers, architects, and administrators, fostering a high-performance, forward-thinking culture.
- Oversee complex, high-cost IT projects related to enterprise platforms, ensuring successful outcomes that meet both technical and business goals.
- Deep experience in enterprise platform management, particularly ServiceNow, Power BI, Power Platform, and Salesforce.
- Be a visionary leader who thrives on driving platform growth, innovation, and transformative change.
- Have exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable influencing executive leaders, technical teams, and agency partners.
- Be skilled in navigating organizational change, challenging legacy thinking, and leading agencies toward secure, modern solutions.
- Excel at strategic planning and execution, managing multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
