Responsibilities:Focuses staff on the accomplishment of Covenants Mission, Vision, Values and strategic business plan.
Manage the day-to-day operations of Material Management in designated areas that may include Business Office functions, Centralized Inventory Support, and Capital Equipment functions.
Collaboratively formulates departmental targets and goals and creatively provides the leadership to accomplish them, including continuous improvement activities.
Builds effective working relationships with management, staff and other partners and fosters a spirit of teamwork in area of responsibility and within Covenant.
Acquires and effectively manages materials and human resources to provide cost effective departmental budget.
Shows organizational skills through effective planning and delegating. Constantly seeks opportunities to have department work more efficiently and effectively.
Acts as a resource for guidance and support to leadership concerning supplies, capital equipment and purchased services and their effect on associated budgets.
Assists Director of M.M. in management of purchasing departments at affiliated hospitals.
Serve on hospital committees and work on special projects as assigned by Director of M.M.
Monitors and maintains documentation of the Capital Equipment Budget for entire hospital. Oversees Equipment purchasing by staff to ensure proper contract pricing, standardization, and negotiations have occurred.
Responsible for employee management as it relates to job performance, evaluation, counseling, corrective and disciplinary action, interviewing, hiring and associated documentation.
Practices good employee relations through coaching, mentoring, motivating and encouraging staff.

Prepares departmental budgets and manages their financial performance, projects volume / activity, manages net income and controls expenses
Analyzes and reports financials and incorporates information into decision making.Oversees contract teamResponsible for negotiation of supply, capital, and service contracts throughout the organization.Oversees the change management and new item process related to item master
Qualifications:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business. Consideration will be given to candidates without a degree but with a combination of education and commensurate experience:Leadership experience preferredExperience as material management leader preferredKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Clear and proven understanding of healthcare Materials Management, Centralized Inventory Support, and Capital Equipment functions.
A balance of technology and leadership (people) skills
Technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in computers, spreadsheets and report writing software.
Demonstrated sound judgment in difficult/sensitive situations.
Demonstrated ability to meet Covenants Leadership Expectations, to include: Strategic Leadership, Character, Interpersonal Skills, Job Performance, and Results.
