- Core accounting activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, executing on key controls, attestation, supporting internal and external audit work, and accounting results review.
- Core reinsurance accounting activities, including reinsurance contract setup, recording results in reinsurance system, communication with internal & external counterparties/stakeholders, receivable/payable management, and involuntary reinsurance filings.
- Core reinsurance reporting activities, including GAAP consolidated reinsurance reporting, STAT reinsurance reporting, monthly management reporting and analysis, financial planning, and catastrophe loss reporting.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including IT, on various initiatives to support day to day work and strategic initiatives to enable enhanced capabilities and efficiencies.
- Responsible for the accurate, timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual book close cycles for a complex accounting operation.
- Responsible for the accurate production of all financial reports issued by a complex accounting operation, ensuring compliance with all accounting regulations.
- Responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of an internal control framework that ensures accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.
- Acts as a financial advisor to strategic business units or other departments, having the vision to make recommendations for accounting treatment that improves business outcomes.
- Understands the interdependencies of financial systems, prioritizing and implementing enhancements and planning appropriately for changes.
- Has the vision and insight to recognize emerging trends and organizational changes and can set strategic direction for the work unit.
- Fosters an environment of continuous improvement, initiating and/or leading cross-functional projects to improve efficiency or effectiveness. Responsible for developing the team`s capabilities to meet both current and future needs of the accounting operation and the enterprise.

- Bachelor`s degree (Accounting or Finance)
- Insurance / Reinsurance accounting experience preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting or finance experience
- Must demonstrate the ability to execute thoroughly in a fast-paced work environment, adapting quickly to changing conditions to achieve results
- Possesses superior communication skills to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization to gain support for ideas and execute on projects that deliver value to customers
- Comfortable leading meetings, making strategic recommendations to senior management and giving presentations to increasingly large audiences
