DescriptionWhat You Will Do
  • Maintains and repairs various architectural parts of the facilities including, but not limited to, walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, countertops, furniture, doors, and signage.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled carpentry related maintenance and/or repair to equipment throughout the facility.
  • Prioritizes work tickets to ensure the workload is complete and on time.
  • Organizes and leads the work of the carpentry and grounds staff.
  • Enter and follow up on purchase requisitions.
  • Enforces hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Performs lead duties as assigned to provide continuity of departmental functions in the absence of the Manager.
  • Assists the Manager in meeting all regulatory requirements of CMS, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Flexible shift work may be required based upon hospital demands and emergencies

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Work Experience
  • 5+ years Of carpentry experience (Required) and
  • Specific experience in a large hospital (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. (Required proficiency)
  • Notable client service, communication, and relationship building skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrated ability to use PCs, email, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.) (Required proficiency)
