Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the Programs & Partnerships Manager, the Career Pathways Lead is responsible for supporting individuals in achieving long-term employment and career advancement. This role collaborates with employers, training providers, and internal teams to develop sector-based pathways that align with labor market demand and participant needs. The ideal candidate brings a mix of career development expertise, partnership building, and program management experience to ensure participants thrive in their career journeys. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to providing exceptional service to program participants.Key Duties
- Lead the development and implementation of career pathway strategies, with a focus on high-growth, high-demand sector- Health & Human Services
- Design and oversee sector-based cohorts, training pipelines, and work-based learning opportunities that prepare participants for employment and advancement.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with employers, educational institutions, training providers, and community stakeholders. Provide individualized career coaching and job readiness support to participants, including resume review, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- Monitor participant progress, employment outcomes, and retention; use data to inform continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with internal staff and external partners to align wraparound services that address barriers to employment.
- Design & facilitate career development workshops/classes and informational sessions on industry trends and opportunities.
- Stay informed on labor market trends and adjust programming to meet evolving employer and community needs.
- Provide follow-up communications to applicants to resolve incomplete or pending applications.
- Prepare reports and summaries related to enrollment trends, eligibility issues, or program reach.
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews by ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Provide supportive services (e.g., tools, uniform, transportation assistance, etc.) as available.
- Support the job search and application process for trainees and community clients by connecting to employment opportunities and facilitating development of a resume, online employment site profiles, and interview skills when scheduled onsite at the career resource center.
- Create and maintain electronic participant files by logging events and case notes in the organization’s case management information system Care4.
- Follow-up with participants’ employment status via phone, email, or employer contact
- HS Diploma/GED, AA/BA desirable
- 2+ years of experience in workforce development
- 1+ years of experience working with vulnerable populations
- Optimistic and adaptive collaborator, even in ambiguity
- Able to work under pressure and maintain excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in all basic computer platforms, including word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, client management software, and email
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business and grant documentation
- Able to present information in a variety of formats (narrative, statistical, oral)
