Pay Range: $102,398-$139,843Job Summary:Hydro Extrusions North America provides world class extruded aluminum solutions to every major market. Within this business unit is a diverse group of engineers and designers working to drive the use of aluminum extrusions in North America through new product development, product design, design for manufacturability, metallurgy, and customer education.Required Education/Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of engineering and product design.
  • Prior experience with aluminum or metals industries preferred.
  • Design experience, proficiency in 3D modelling software (Solidworks preferred) required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • FEA and metallurgical experience preferred.
  • Customer facing sales engineering experience or commercial training is desirable.
  • Strong background in metals (aluminum preferred) and fabrication processes with design experience.
  • Ability to quickly analyze technical challenges, develop functional solutions, and clearly communicate them to customers.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with customers and specific projects across disciplines and markets while executing successful hand-offs to sales and operations.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain records of specific improvement ideas for reporting while tracking and providing status updates for assigned metrics.
  • Provide technical design support and guidance to customers in the general marketplace.
  • Actively participate in customers' technical reviews and development projects.
  • Support launch of future programs through technical expertise and program management.
  • Identify, analyze, and help implement new technology and product improvements through program lifecycles.
  • Simplify, standardize, and improve the manufacturability of customers current and new products.
  • Function as a liaison between customer's and Hydro's operational/commercial teams.
  • Coordinate and/or lead meetings and reporting for assigned projects.
  • 50% travel required.
