Overview:Summary Statement:The Buyer is responsible for leading and directing all direct/indirect related purchasing functions in a high-volume capacity. The Buyer works with assigned departments and Sourcing Managers to operationalize savings strategies as well as securing complex products and services needed by sourcing, bidding, negotiating, recommending vendors, creating and placing purchase orders, and expediting the procure to pay process. Job Duties:Primary Job Duties: – Includes but is not limited to:
  • Lead, direct, implement and support initiatives and programs for the procurement of all indirect and direct items with the objective of supporting the overall goals of all departments in relation to budgetary goals.
  • Manage Purchase Order submissions and revisions, which includes following established strategies, bidding and redirection to catalogs, maintaining meticulous records related to said purchases, and resolving discrepancies and compliance issues.
  • Redirect and report apparent violations of company policies (including but not limited to the Procurement Policy and the Limits of Authority Policy)
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to identify, analyze, and suggest opportunities to streamline processes and achieve the lowest total cost of ownership on purchases.
  • Be an active participant in improving the procure-to-pay process and training internal customers on their roles in these processes as needed.
  • Interface and support internal departments as the procurement specialist that allows management to make the right procurement decisions.
  • Resolve invoice issues that fail the 3-way match.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and communication with internal and external contacts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for vendor optimization.
  • Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications:Qualifications: Includes but is not limited to:
  • Must have strong organizational administrative skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must have skill and ability to interact professionally with suppliers to ensure adequate and timely response to purchasing needs.
  • Must have ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
  • Must have ability to focus on tasks, evaluate conditions, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Must be familiar with modern procurement systems (ie Ariba, Oracle, RedRock, BirchStreet, Coupa)
  • Must have basic knowledge of commercial supply sources.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (ie Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must have ability to troubleshoot proactively and creatively to meet team needs
  • Must have Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Preferred:
  • Advanced knowledge of modern procurement systems.
  • 5 years previous experience in Purchasing in a Procurement role.
  • Previous experience in use of and supporting strategic programs and catalogs.
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Application.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years experience in Indirect (i.e. office supplies, equipment, IT, professional services, facilities, etc.) or Direct (i.e. Food, Beverage, etc) Purchasing in a similar or related industry.
  • Procurement experience in a high-volume setting.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
