This position will remain open for application based on business need, which may be before or after the 3-day posting window.Job DescriptionLead Production Technician – Central Machine ShopLocation: Bolingbrook, ILPosition OverviewWe are seeking dedicated and skilled Production Technicians to join our Central Machine Shop team. Technicians play a vital role in supporting shop operations and refurbishing wind turbine components. Lead Production Technicians will additionally oversee and mentor a team of technicians, manage workflow, and ensure that the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity are achieved.Responsibilities
  • Safely operate all shop equipment.
  • Operate welding and cutting equipment; complete metal fabrication projects.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, bills of materials, and operating procedures.
  • Disassemble and reassemble wind turbine components.
  • Ensure accurate and complete quality documentation is maintained and signed off in a timely manner.
  • Maintain company tooling, facilities, and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Uphold safety standards in accordance with Invenergy policies and procedures.
  • Assist with flatbed shipment unloading/offloading and inventory management.
  • Provide technical expertise and professionalism.
Additional Lead Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of Shop Technicians at a focused station.
  • Plan and execute workflow to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Train, mentor, and develop employees.
  • Create, manage, and maintain detailed quality records.
  • Support continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and internal controls.
Production Technician 1 – Required Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months – 3 years of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.).
  • Knowledge of oxy/acetylene cutting processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience operating overhead cranes.
  • Experience operating forklifts.
  • MIG/TIG welding.
  • A degree in a technical discipline.
Lead Production Technician 2 – Required Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability: able to teach, mentor, and supervise employees.
  • Knowledge of oxy/acetylene cutting processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience leading teams in a technical or shop environment.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes.
  • Experience operating forklifts.
  • MIG/TIG welding.
  • A degree in a technical discipline.
