- New York State Certification: Students with Disabilities (Birth to grade 2) or SWD All Grades or Special Education Permanent
- Minimum 1-year experience working with preschool aged children with special needs preferred.
- Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of preschoolers which may include, but not limited to, running, bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and kneeling
- The ability to work independently.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must plan and prioritize work effectively

- Work 1:1 with children, ages 3-5 years, in community and homebased settings
- Maintain positive relationships with parents, teachers, related service providers and supervisors
- Evaluate and assessing the student’s needs
- Utilize positive behavior support strategies
- Adapt teaching methods and providing resources to meet the needs of the student
- Follow all mandates on an IEP
- Plan activities/lessons to target the IEP goals/objectives
- Ongoing assessment and documentation of children’s performance, remediation needs, and progress.
- Maintain accurate attendance records for all assigned children
- Work in diverse settings such as student homes, family daycare homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
- Complete and submit sessions notes after each session
- Complete quarterly progress reports in a timely manner in concert with municipality and SED requirements
- Complete annual review report(s) in a timely manner in concert with municipality and SED requirements
- Attend CPSE meeting(s) for student(s) as required
- Other duties as assigned.
