- Assesses situations; exercises care, discretion, and judgment; assumes responsibility for professional decisions; and acts in the best interest of the patient.
- Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient and recognizes that interpretation and diagnosis are outside the scope of practice for the profession.
- The mammography technologist uses equipment and accessories, employs techniques and procedures, performs services in accordance with an accepted standard of practice, and demonstrates expertise in minimizing radiation exposure to the patient, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Current State of Texas License as a Radiology Technologist.
- ARRT registered in Mammography or registry eligible. Must pass mammography registry within 12 months of hire date.
- Licensure Requirements – 15 mammography direct CEU credit hours in a rolling three-year time period in addition to the 24 CEU credit hours required for ARRT.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diagnostic technologist.
- Documented 40 hours of mammography training and completion of 25 exams under direct supervision of an experienced technologist.

- Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
