Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established consulting firm in the engineering and professional services space to help them hire a Controller. This newly created role will consolidate financial functions, modernize processes, and provide strategic support as the company continues to grow. The position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a collaborative, innovative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, billing, A/R, A/P, accruals, and financial statement preparation.Manage cash flow, forecasting, audits, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Partner with project managers and leadership to analyze project budgets, profitability, and operational metrics.Develop financial reports, scenario models, and forecasts to support planning and decision-making.Serve as liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and vendors.Establish and refine accounting procedures and controls to improve consistency and efficiency.Support strategic initiatives such as employee ownership, equity tracking, and long-term business planning.Qualifications and Must-HavesBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on general ledger and project accounting.Background in professional services, consulting, architecture, or engineering industries.Proficiency with accounting software (Deltek/Ajera preferred), Excel, and financial modeling.Strong knowledge of compliance, audits, and internal controls.Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience mentoring others.Preferred:CPA or equivalent certification.Experience with ESOP or closely held firm ownership.Knowledge of revenue recognition for professional services.Exposure to AI/data analytics for financial reporting.Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build and scale accounting processes.Pay Details: $125,000.00 to $175,000.00 per yearEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://uat.adecco.com/en-us/candidate-privacyThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:
