- Plan and coordinate night relocation and construction projects, including schedules, milestones, and work breakdowns.
- Supervise and support night shift technicians, providing direction and oversight
- Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to project plans, timelines, and quality standards.
- Procure and track construction materials, ensuring timely delivery to support night operations.
- Conduct site inspections at night to identify potential issues, monitor progress, and verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and address variances.
- Facilitate communication between department supervisors, customers, engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and property managers
- Review and process change orders with proper documentation and approvals.
- Identify potential risks during night relocations and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including nightly reports, permits, and testing results.
- Perform hands-on fiber work when required: installation, repair, splicing, termination, testing, and outage management.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with company, customer, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in the night emergency on-call rotation.
- Provide daily updates to day time supervisor, reporting on all overnight project work
- Perform other duties as required to support relocation and night operations.
- 3+ years of experience in fiber optic construction, relocation, or splicing.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to direct teams during night operations.
- Proficiency in single and ribbon fusion splicing, fiber counts, and color identification.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting fiber design prints, maps, and matrices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with relocation practices and emergency fiber rerouting.
- Proficiency with OTDR, IOLM, Power Meter/Light Sources, VFL, and digital testing/reporting platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license; must pass DOT, drug, background, and MVR screenings.
- Ability to safely operate bucket trucks and tow trailers during night operations.
- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 lbs frequently; up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and enter/exit vehicles and equipment.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements; manual dexterity required.
- Visual acuity for close-up work, color identification, and cable inspection.
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors at night under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to sustain stamina for extended night shifts and emergency response efforts.
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality.
