We focus on collaboration, accuracy, and efficiency, offering opportunities to develop expertise in complex billing, appeals, and payer relations while contributing to the success of our hospitals.How you'll contributeA Patient Financial Services Representative (PFSR) who excels in this role:Completes and submits insurance claims for hospital billable services (paper and electronic).Follows up on claims to ensure payments are received promptly and accurately.Works Medicare rejections from IVANS daily and rekeys via the DDE system.Maintains knowledge of CMS billing rules and regulations.Manages complex billing issues to resolution.Maintains and submits the Medicare Bad Debt Log, including review of Medicaid remits for qualifying accounts and agency returns.Manages the Patient Financial Services Denial Log.Responsible for primary Medicare First Level Appeal submissions after approval from PFSD leadership.Develops and maintains relationships with third-party payers and vendors to maximize cash flow.Responds to patient inquiries regarding hospital charges, insurance payments, or coverage.Adheres to HIPAA standards and ensures confidentiality in all processes.Why join usWe believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care. Additional requirements include:Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.Experience: Minimum of 4 years in insurance billing/follow-up required; coding experience preferred.Skills:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, medical personnel, and third-party payers.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.EEOC Statement
