- Analog/Mixed-Signal IP Block and Platform Development: Work with the Product Design teams and Marketing to define IP block functionality and performance specifications. Design, develop and characterize IP blocks for reuse across multiple products.
- IP Block Characterization: Work with Characterization Engineers to define, conduct and analyze data from circuit block and product performance characterization.
- Product Capability Development: Work with Design, Marketing, Modeling and Process Technology teams to drive the definition and development of SOI process technology, modeling requirements, IP roadmaps, and product platforms to enable Product Design to rapidly build RFICs.
- Product Support: Work with Applications, Product, and Manufacturing Engineers to help answer customer questions, assess field failures, and support yield improvements. Assist Production Test Engineers to define ATE solutions for Production.
- Documentation: Document all relevant design information to educate others on IP block usage and novel design techniques.
- AMS Infrastructure: Contribute to requirements documentation, tool selection and methodology development.
- Typically requires 12+ years of experience developing Analog/Mixed-Signal/PMIC circuit blocks and products depending on education level and experience
- An expert in analog / mixed-signal IC circuit design: amplifiers, opamps, references, LDO regulators, data converters, switched capacitor circuits, charge pumps, digital interfaces
- Experience in high volume, commercial CMOS ICs (bulk or SOI)
- Able to do analog/mixed-signal IC layout where needed and effectively supervise layout designers
- Strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule
- Cooperative team member, able to work effectively within the Technology Platforms department and cross functionally with other teams
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Hands on use of measurement equipment to validate IC performance
- Familiarity with RFIC products and applications
- Knowledge of IC fabrication and how this impacts circuit performance
- Software tools: Cadence, Excel, JMP, Matlab, ADS, HFSS, Momentum
- Minimum BSEE, MSEE preferred
