Join us and give new meaning to the word, "job."Summary: This role is responsible for supporting the Senior Director of Business Continuity in the implementation and maintenance of the BC lifecycle, emergency response, and crisis management. The primary program components are the enterprise-wide business impact analysis (BIA), the business continuity planning process, conducting BC and emergency response exercises, and supporting program reporting to senior leadership. The position supports business impact analysis; training on business continuity to business units; and supports risk assessments as required. Supports the areas of the organization responsible for business continuity planning and the processes that ensure that various organizational departments and the enterprise as a whole are prepared to respond and recover from an extended business disruption. Relentlessly pursuing cancer cures.**** TEMPORARY POSITION - 9 months assignment. Staffed through TCWGlobal ****Accountabilities:Business Continuity & Crisis Management
  • Monitor threats across the United States that may impact LLS operations, such as weather, natural disasters, and civil unrest.
  • Act as an Incident Leader, following established SOPs and/or playbooks
  • Launch emergency communication plans as necessary
  • Help develop awareness and training in support of the Business Continuity Program
  • Help conduct the business continuity lifecycle on a defined basis, including business impact analyzes, business continuity planning, training, and exercises
  • Help plan and coordinate regular cross-functional crisis response training exercises
Disaster Recovery
  • Help coordinate with the Disaster Recovery Manager and Technology leads for disaster recovery plan development, updates, and annual tests
  • Monitor and maintain the master schedule for disaster recovery plan development, updates, and testing.
Risk Management & Assessment
  • Assist with due diligence efforts for new vendors and service providers, and assessment of established vendors and service providers
  • Help review and audit LLS emergency office procedures to ensure local information is up to date and accurate
  • Provide training to staff prior to high-risk events (i.e. TNT)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS's mission and programs to promote the Society's innovation funding, research, and mission initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Regularly inquire and audit critical SaaS platforms to ensure they can meet business needs

  • Business Continuity certification preferred (e.g., Associate or Certified Business Continuity Professional)
  • 2-3 years of experience in Business Continuity preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Resourcefulness, problem solving acumen
  • Cross-functional project management experience preferred
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite with enhanced Excel knowledge (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Adept at developing relationships across multiple departments and levels of an organization
  • Ability to influence without authority while balancing risks in ambiguous situations
  • Proven experience supporting business continuity programs and documentation
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business continuity and crisis management planning techniques, technologies and best practices
  • Other duties as needed to support Business Operations

  • Must be available to work evenings/weekends and/or on short notice as needed for an incident response should an event occur.
