- Develop and maintain pricing models that support competitive positioning while achieving target profitability.
- Evaluate product pricing against market trends, customer expectations, and internal cost structures.
- Recommend and implement price adjustments based on performance data, customer segmentation, and ROI considerations.
- Define pricing KPIs and track performance to ensure pricing strategies deliver measurable business impact.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of SKU performance to support product lifecycle decisions including introductions, retirements, and repositioning.
- Identify underperforming SKUs and recommend strategies to improve performance or rationalize offerings.
- Support the expansion of product lines by analyzing customer buying patterns and SKU adoption across different segments.
- Provide data-driven insights to support product bundling, packaging, and upselling strategies.
- Partner with Sales, Product Development, and Marketing to tailor pricing approaches to customer needs and behavior.
- Utilize customer-level data to develop pricing strategies that encourage broader product adoption and increased revenue per account.
- Segment customers and markets to align pricing tactics with value perception, usage patterns, and demand elasticity.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Sales, Product Management, Operations, and Finance to align on product and pricing strategies.
- Lead pricing discussions during product launches, promotions, or market entry initiatives to ensure strategic alignment.
- Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and customer feedback to adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
- Conduct benchmarking analysis to understand how the company's products are positioned against competitors in terms of price and value.
- Build and enhance dynamic pricing models and tools that provide actionable insights and support real-time decision-making.
- Ensure pricing systems and tools are user-friendly, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
- Generate regular pricing and product performance reports for leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Provide recommendations backed by data to guide pricing, product development, and go-to-market strategies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in pricing analysis, product analytics, or category management within a product-based environment such as manufacturing, import/export, or distribution required. Proven experience developing pricing models, conducting SKU-level analysis, and supporting product lifecycle decisions. Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Operations to align pricing with business objectives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Additional coursework or certifications in pricing strategy, product management, or data analysis are preferred.
- Skills: Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build pricing models and translate data into actionable insights. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly present pricing strategies and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Must be a collaborative team player capable of working effectively with cross-functional departments to achieve shared goals. Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, including experience with pivot tables, formulas, and modeling. Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of pricing strategy, SKU optimization, product lifecycle management, and margin analysis. Familiarity with customer segmentation, market-based pricing, and product positioning. Working knowledge of pricing KPIs, product performance metrics, and competitive benchmarking methods.
- Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite is preferred. Knowledge of pricing or product management software tools is preferred.
- Mobility: Ability to move freely within an office environment and occasionally between meeting rooms or departments.
- Standing and Walking: May be required for short periods during team meetings, whiteboard sessions, or collaborative work discussions.
- Lifting and Carrying: Infrequent need to lift or transport materials, documents, or lightweight office equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Posture and Motion: Regular use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods; may involve sitting for extended periods and occasional reaching or bending during presentations or file handling.
- Vision and Hearing: Must have adequate vision to analyze data and reports; hearing sufficient to participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
- Work Environment: Primarily a quiet, standard office environment with occasional exposure to collaborative or team settings involving moderate noise.
