- Prepare project specific logistics strategy as an integrated part of the project procurement strategy.
- Prepare a project logistics schedule in cooperation with the Project Controls-Scheduling department for executing all details of the logistics services.
- Prepare project specific procedures and specifications e.g. packing & marking instruction, ready for shipment instruction, logistics inquiry, order template.
- Establish a project specific logistics service provider list considering financial project requirements and service provider experience to create project tenders.
- Conduct competitive bidding, negotiate rates and discounts for logistics project service agreements.
- Execute final bid evaluation and price comparison of project specific transports, according to approved matrix.
- Provide Project Management with a regular logistic report containing logistics status of the project as required.
- Coordination of shipments with involved Project Expediting Managers.
- Review of logistics service provider invoices.
- Perform service provider rating per project, provide input to overall annual service provider rating.
- Examination of transport and lifting sketches for oversized, heavy-lift cargoes.
- Perform onsite logistics study, to ensure equipment can be transported into the jobsite.
- Facilitate national and international market screens to obtain the necessary knowledge of the logistics market.
- Manage all shipping methods and deliveries to various vendor locations and jobsites.
- Prepare logistics cost and manhour estimates for proposals.
- Adhere to Trade Compliance Policies and Procedures.
- Execute transportation requirements within budgetary guidelines.
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as team leader.
- Solid knowledge with International and domestic shipping experience.
- Experience with permit loads, heavy haul transportation and project shipping preferred.
- Experience with US Customs Import & Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organization skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Over 10 years experience within the energy industry
- Bachelors Degree or industry experience equivalent.
