DESCRIPTIONThe Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team owns Amazon's global inventory management systems. We decide how much inventory we should have of every product Amazon carries and where it should be placed within our fulfillment network to ensure we delight our customers. Our large-scale automated inventory management systems are built entirely in-house and are pioneering the science and technology of supply chain planning and optimization.The SCOT Forward Looking Inventory Planning (FLIP) team owns the systems and processes required to provide vendors with the advance signals they need to produce and place the right inventory at the right place at the right time. Our Special Sourcing Operations (SSO) teammates delight Amazon customers by operating and optimizing our specialized procurement processes and systems. As an SSO Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for executing and enhancing the strategies we use to source inventory for both new and existing businesses. You will wear many hats as supply chain leader, business owner, partner and data analyst.Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well and have a consistent track record of delivery. You excel at solving complex problems, diving deep into issues and conducting data-driven problem solving. You are an operations expert that thrives at bringing order from chaos by creating efficient, effective procedures to standardize workflows and scale processes. You are an outstanding communicator that can create and present metrics to drive cross-functional understanding. You are an expert at influencing stakeholders across teams, functions and levels.Key job responsibilities
Design new supply chain processes to successfully source inventory for Amazon's most challenging use cases and drive iterative improvement across existing sourcing strategies.Lead the execution and reporting for specialized procurement processes.Create sourcing program goals and related metrics, tracking progress and managing through obstacles to achieve your objectives.Create and present metrics that communicate sourcing performance, facilitate root-cause analysis and drive broad stakeholder awareness.Serve as a subject matter expert on Amazon and vendor procurement capabilities to drive cross-functional enhancements with Retail, Vendor, Technology and Supply Chain partners.Partner with other teams across Retail and Supply Chain to identify and influence development of new supply chain products and servicesExemplify and promote data-driven decision-making

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Science, Engineering or similarly quantitative fieldsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience in supply chain
- LEAN or Six Sigma Experience
- Proficiency with SQL or similar database manipulation language

The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
