- Ensure that all products are produced according to each customer specifications, reporting any problems with formulas to shift supervisor and formulation specialist.
- Performs Agtron tests on each batch of finished product to ensure surface color meets specification and ensures that all products produced on the chili finish lines meet the standards set for visual appearance, and grind.
- Performs moisture analysis on each batch of finished product to ensure that moisture is on target and meets specification. Plots the results on the Chili Finish Line Moisture Chart (TC1_14E).
- Performs weekly Tail Gate meetings with employees in department and follows up to ensure equipment and department are operational in conjunction with maintenance staff and through coordination with the previous shift.
- Provides for training of assigned department employees to ensure their knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures relating to the quality, safety and productivity for the assigned areas.
- Analyzes department operations, recommends measures for continuous improvement as well as supports, and promotes employee involvement in continuous improvement programs along with ensuring work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly condition, including department shift end cleanup.
- Prints all tags needed for batches of product produced on Chili Finish Lines.
- Performs all assigned PM's on the day given and turns in the completed PM's to the shift supervisor.
- Ensures that all metal detector and magnet procedures are followed and that all findings are inspected and documented.
- Sorts through empty drums to determine which drums are no longer usable. Initials all drums that have been chosen for disposal as an authorization of the disposal and inputs daily waste totals for Chili areas in Chili Waste Spreadsheet.
- Assists in signing in and out employees at the start and end of shift and ensures that all department personnel have necessary tools, supplies, personnel, etc.
- Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing all safety policies and regulations, providing feedback and support for maintaining accurate policies and procedures within the department.
- Performs any other tasks and/or project required or assigned by a member of management.
- Interest in being a part of an effective and productive manufacturing process
- Ability to read, write with desire to continually learn and improve
- Knowledge of Industrial Safety and Hygiene guideline with previous experience in plant production sites with added plus of exposure to food industry
- At least 3 years of previous Operator experience with leadership responsibilities, in a food manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of PLC and panel view operations, limit switches, relays, proximity sensors, photo sensing devices, electronic device calibrations, voltage meters, preventative maintenance work
