- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
- Coordinates and prepares monthly business review presentations to senior management.
- Presents monthly financial performance to Senior Leadership.
- Maintains monthly forecasts for the region and submits them to CRH group finance monthly.
- Monitors cost variances and proactively communicates them to senior management.
- Monitors capital spending for the region to ensure projects are completed timely and on budget.
- Communicates capital spending requirements to senior management.
- Assists in preparing capital project justifications to ensure the viability of all projects and that the highest return projects are prioritized and pursued.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual Strat Plan by providing historical financial data, providing multiyear forecasts, and calculating project returns.
- Works closely with outside auditors to coordinate and plan the audit.
- Ensures that the company's accounting and financial records are in compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Assists outside auditors with schedules and answer any associated questions.
- Works closely with the Plant Controllers.
- Assists the plants in hiring, training, and setting standards for the Plant Controller position. Coordinate periodic calls with the Plant Controllers and coordinate meetings with the group.
- Coordinates regular cost reviews with the Plant Controllers to provide cost information to Senior Leadership.
- Provides monthly operating reports to the sales and manufacturing groups. Work closely with those groups to explain variances and identify key business metrics.
- Serves as Regional SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) leader. Set standards for SOX across the region and ensure that SOX controls are properly performed and documented.
- Monitors working capital for the region and ensure that company assets are properly protected and used efficiently.
- Deals regularly with external auditors and ensure compliance and adequate controls are in place.
- Acts as a custodian of company assets for the organization.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Minimum 4-year degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA preferred
- 10 or more years Accounting experience in public accounting or private industry or related positions.
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc
- Proficient in written English, effective verbal communication, and listening skills
- Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
- Ability to lead/manage others
- Knowledge of accounting practices as set forth by GAAP
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products
- Ability to utilize a personal computer to perform duties
- Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
