College Access Program Specialist

- Recruit, identify, and select eligible participants based on the following criteria:
- Individuals qualified under Department of Education low-income status
- First-generation college students
- Students interested in post-secondary education
- Evaluate participants' academic needs and potential
- Manage student data and ensure complete documentation is kept updated
- Assist in the implementation and assessment of project activities
- Supply career and college counseling to groups and individuals, motivating program participants to finish secondary school and enroll in post-secondary education
- Aid in coordinating and attending local, long-distance, virtual, and overnight field trips as needed
- Provide referrals to participants for financial aid resources, social services agencies, and governmental agencies as needs are identified
- Support in implementing and promoting community-based events
- Advocate for participants as required for secondary and post-secondary admission, re-enrollment, and retention
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with youth, preferably with grades 9 through 12
- Robust organizational skills, attention to detail, and exceptional follow-through
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience in giving presentations
- Aptitude in planning activities
- Skilled in working with computers
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and working knowledge of PowerPoint, Zoom, and Google Suite
- Experience working with first-generation college students, students from low-income households, and students from underrepresented backgrounds preferred
