has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced College Access Program Specialist for our client, an amazing nonprofit dedicated to supporting low-income students in pursuing higher education in San Francisco, CA. This incredible role offers the ability to work directly with students, providing support and counseling through continuing education while expanding program participants! This position is onsite and is for immediate hire!RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruit, identify, and select eligible participants based on the following criteria:
  • Individuals qualified under Department of Education low-income status
  • First-generation college students
  • Students interested in post-secondary education
  • Evaluate participants' academic needs and potential
  • Manage student data and ensure complete documentation is kept updated
  • Assist in the implementation and assessment of project activities
  • Supply career and college counseling to groups and individuals, motivating program participants to finish secondary school and enroll in post-secondary education
  • Aid in coordinating and attending local, long-distance, virtual, and overnight field trips as needed
  • Provide referrals to participants for financial aid resources, social services agencies, and governmental agencies as needs are identified
  • Support in implementing and promoting community-based events
  • Advocate for participants as required for secondary and post-secondary admission, re-enrollment, and retention
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with youth, preferably with grades 9 through 12
  • Robust organizational skills, attention to detail, and exceptional follow-through
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in giving presentations
  • Aptitude in planning activities
  • Skilled in working with computers
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and working knowledge of PowerPoint, Zoom, and Google Suite
  • Experience working with first-generation college students, students from low-income households, and students from underrepresented backgrounds preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
