Through the support of the Open Data Sponsorship Program, AWS customers have made more than 100 petabytes of high-value, cloud-optimized data available for public use.We are seeking an exceptional Technical Program Manager to join the AWS Open Data team to transform how customers share and consume data. Our ideal teammate is passionate about data-data analysis, data formats, open science-and has the skills to build and maintain resilient systems of people and technology. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for operation of the AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program. Within AWS's culture reinvention and refinement, you will both scrutinize and improve existing processes as well as build new mechanisms and methods to improve access to the world's most important data.Key job responsibilities
  • Lead data provider application review & provider onboarding
  • Drive quarterly launch process
  • Monitor program compliance
  • Report program metrics & KPIs
  • Drive process and technology improvements to accelerate customer adoption and data velocity
  • Engage engineering teams across AWS to deliver services and features that facilitate data sharing and analysis.
  • Influence our open data strategy and roadmap
To succeed, the candidate needs to be motivated by putting customers first; they understand customer needs and don't rest until they deliver it. They are detail-oriented with a strong technical or analytical background and excellent problem-solving skills. They learn from mistakes and love working with really smart people. They have a solid understanding of product/project management (e.g. business case, risk management, schedule management, and negotiation). The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
