- Route Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain transportation schedules, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products while optimizing routes and minimizing costs.
- Vendor and Carrier Management: Communicate and coordinate with transportation providers (carriers, freight forwarders, etc.) to schedule shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Tracking and Monitoring Shipments: Track the status of all shipments, provide updates to internal teams and customers, and address any delays or issues that arise.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, such as bills of lading, shipping manifests, and delivery receipts. Generate reports on transportation costs, delays, and other performance metrics.
- Customer Service: Work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve any transportation-related inquiries, issues, or concerns.
- Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with warehouse teams to coordinate the timely movement of goods in and out of the facility.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations, industry best practices, and supply chain processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage unexpected changes in logistics.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
