Key Responsibilities of a Sales/Station Manager in Broadcasting:
· Sales Team Management: Oversee the daily operations of a local sales team, including setting performance goals and motivating team members.
· Overseeing daily Operations: Manage the sales team and assist other departments.
· Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue goals.
· Networking: Build strong relationships with local businesses and media partners to identify new sales opportunities.
· Data Analysis: Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement and growth.
· Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers and clients.
· Programming: In the station manager role, may also assist in programming decisions, including content selection and scheduling.
General Requirements and Qualifications:
· Education:
Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related field.
· Experience:
A minimum of four years of sales experience, with at least three years in a management role, preferably in the broadcast industry.
· Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent analytical abilities, and proficiency in sales software and data analysis tools.
· Knowledge:
Familiarity with broadcast sales processes, local market dynamics, and industry
