This dual-role position offers the opportunity to contribute to both patient care and client service. You’ll alternate between providing hands-on support to our veterinary team and managing front desk responsibilities, depending on the needs of the hospital.
The individual selected for this role will be enrolled in our Certified Veterinary Assistant Program through VetBloom, with the goal of progressing toward a future role as a Veterinary Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in veterinary medicine.Veterinary Assistant Duties Include:
- Animal restraint and husbandry
- Administering oral medications
- Assisting veterinary staff with procedures
- Stocking supplies & maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Basic record keeping
- Greeting clients and managing check-ins
- Answering phones and routing calls
- Scheduling appointments
- Processing payments and invoices
- Managing records (scanning, filing, data entry)
- Keeping the lobby and front desk tidy and welcoming
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in either veterinary assisting or client care (healthcare or veterinary preferred)
- Customer service-focused and compassionate
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A strong communicator (bilingual a plus!)
- Organized, adaptable, and self-motivated
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment
- Capable of handling/ restraining animals up to 50 lbs
