- Responsible for performance on production lines and working with other technicians and operators to preserve stable line performance.
- May be asked to write process, operations, or equipment documentation.
- Problem solving will be routine and is expected to be performed methodically. Understands equipment used in key processes and interprets data from processes to solve problems.
- Works on continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, downtime, and/or defects and to increase yields.
- Supports line job changes to different products.
- Understands how machine or process inputs impact product quality.
- May be asked to participate in developing a new process or machine to improve the current process.
- The technician is the first level of escalation for daily activities and problem resolution. At times the coordination of upstream or downstream activities will be required.
- Interacts with operators and production leadership daily to understand issues and to communicate plans and instructions. Sound communication is key to success in the role.
- Training of production personnel is routine and common in this position.
- Ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all manufacturing processes. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards and risks.
- Standard Hours (Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm).
- Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so support when needed.
- Part of the on-call support rotation schedule.
- Associate's degree
- 3-5 years of experience working in manufacturing
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to handle multiple complex tasks and set priorities with multiple internal customers.
- Other technician and/or operator roles that lead to a better understanding of the equipment and processes.
- Has a thorough understanding of and can practice Process Control and Discipline. Can discern when to follow SOP, and when SOP no longer applies, and additional stakeholder input may be necessary.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas and graphing functions.
- Demonstrated leadership or strong teamwork in accomplishing common goals.
- Practical experience with basic statistics, a track record of identifying sources of variation.
