- Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to the problem area
- Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions
- Read schematics
- Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions
- Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components
- Meet customer service expectations
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine project specifications.
- Weld structural components using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques.
- Cut, shape, and prepare metal using tools like plasma cutters, grinders, and saws.
- Inspect completed welds for structural integrity and compliance with codes.
- Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment.
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship or vocational training program.
- Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent (e.g., Certified Welder - CW).
- Proven experience in structural welding, preferably 3-5 years.
- Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of off-road heavy equipment
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
- Tier IV Emissions experience
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
- Ability to manipulate components in hard to reach places with hands or tools
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes (e.g., AWS D1.1).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
