We are seeking a full-time Program Specialist to serve our client, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Washington, D.C. This position is in the Office of Grants Management and Office of Head Start Services within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF).The Program Specialist job requires attainment of a security clearance level of Public Trust, if the candidate does not already have one. This entails a pre-employment questionnaire and background investigation. A security clearance can open a lot of other doors for your career with the Government, including the possibility of being hired directly.This is a full-time job with a starting salary range of $50,000-55,000 PLUS generous benefits package.   • Perform data management, document & records management, grant application reviews and analyses.
  • Provide guidance and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start grant programs.
  • Provide support to grantee programs as needed.
  • Attend client meetings as assigned and organize documentation.
  • Assist with preliminary grant application reviews.
  • Perform program support tasks as requested.
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in a field related to task activities from an accredited university or college, or a combination of education and experience that provides the needed preparation to complete the task activities.
  • Two years of relevant experience can be substituted for degree
  • Knowledge and experience with Head Start or other early childhood programs is a major plus
  • Knowledge of the current laws, regulations, and policies that govern Head Start is a major plus
  • Experience in utilizing a variety of web-based and off-the-shelf data management software packages.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and produce high quality written products such as memoranda, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Knowledge and experience with the administration of discretionary grants is preferred.
  • Ability to review, aggregate, and present data gathered from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Federal operations and regulations.
To be hired, the candidate must reside either in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington D.C.
